Build-up 0.5–2 mm, foot traffic at 24 hours, vehicles at 72. Standard epoxy chalks in UV, so outdoors it needs a UV-stable topcoat or a cementitious finish instead.

Epoxy is a two-part resin system rolled or squeegeed over a mechanically prepared slab. Once cured it is a single continuous membrane: no joints, no pores, nothing for oil, coolant or brake fluid to soak into. It is the standard for garage floors and light industrial areas for exactly that reason.
Preparation decides everything. The slab is diamond ground to an open profile, moisture tested, primed, and any pinholes filled before the topcoat goes on. Epoxy rolled over a sealed or damp slab is the single most common coating failure we get called out to.
Solid colour, metallic, or a clear coat over decorative flake — the same system runs from a plain grey workshop to a showroom floor.

If your job falls into that category we will say so at the quote and put up the finish that does suit it, rather than selling you the one you asked about.
Looking after it
Mop with a neutral cleaner, and deal with oil promptly rather than letting it sit. Avoid dragging steel and dropping tools on the same spot, and use a mat under a jockey wheel or engine stand. A worn topcoat can be scuffed and re-coated without redoing the system.

The questions we get asked
Will epoxy peel?
Not off a properly ground, dry, primed slab. It peels off polished, sealed or damp concrete — which is why the grind and the moisture test are non-negotiable.
Can epoxy go outside?
Standard epoxy chalks in UV. Outdoors we use a UV-stable polyurethane or aliphatic topcoat over it, or specify a cementitious finish instead.
Can I see it before committing?
Yes. Samples come to the quote, and we can usually point you at a job in your suburb to drive past.
How often will it need re-sealing?
Every three to five years in full sun and around five to seven under cover. The sealer is the wearing layer and re-coating it is a fraction of the cost of a new finish.
