How to read the figures published on this site, and what a quote actually commits us to.
Everything on this website is general information about how we work, not advice about your slab and not a quote. The figures that bind us are the ones on your written quote after an on-site inspection. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law apply regardless of anything here or in any contract. Queensland law governs.
Using this website
General information only. The specifications, build-ups, cure times, slip ratings, maintenance intervals and cost guidance published on this website describe how we normally work in South East Queensland conditions. They are general information, not advice about your slab, and they are not a quote.
Your job governs. The figures that apply to your property are the ones written on your quote after an on-site assessment. Where this website gives a range, the quote gives the number. Where the two differ, the quote wins.
Nothing here creates a warranty. No page on this website is a warranty, a guarantee, or a promise about your particular slab. Warranty terms, where they exist, are stated in your written quote and contract.
Photography. The project photographs on this site are of work we carried out ourselves. They are not stock images. They show the finish as laid on that slab, in that light, at that age — concrete varies with weather, wear and time, and yours will not be an exact match.
Third-party names. Product and system names such as Covercrete and Covacrete are the trade marks of their owners, and appear here only to describe categories of work.
Links out. Where we link to another organisation, such as the QBCC public register, we do not control that site or what it says.
Our content. The text, photographs and page designs on this website belong to us. You are welcome to read them, print them, quote them with attribution, and link to them. Republishing pages wholesale as your own is not on.
What a quote commits us to
A quote follows an inspection, not a form. Submitting the quote form starts a conversation. It is not an order, it does not bind either of us, and no work is scheduled until you have a written quote and have accepted it.
What a quote is based on. Our quotes are based on the slab as we found it on the day we measured it. Concrete hides things — moisture under a coating, a crack that only opens under load, a previous sealer nobody mentioned. Where something is discovered after work begins that could not reasonably have been seen at the inspection, we stop, tell you, and price the change before continuing. We do not do surprise invoices.
How long a quote holds. Each quote states its own validity period. Material prices move, and past that date the figure may need revisiting.
Weather. Overlays, coatings and sealers need dry slabs and workable temperatures. Wet weather moves start dates, and we would rather move a date than lay a finish that fails. Programmed dates are our honest intention, not a guarantee of a particular day.
Licensed work. We hold QBCC licence 1109935. Where the value or nature of the work requires a written contract under Queensland building legislation, you get one, and it prevails over anything on this website.
Consumer law, liability and jurisdiction
Consumer guarantees cannot be signed away. Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing on this website, in a quote, or in a contract limits those rights. If a service is not carried out with due care and skill, or goods are not of acceptable quality, you have remedies regardless of what any document says.
Limits, subject to that. Beyond the rights described above, we are not liable for loss arising from your use of the general information on this website — for example, ordering material or budgeting a project from a published range instead of a quote. Where the law allows a limit on our liability, our liability is limited to re-supplying the service or paying the cost of having it re-supplied.
Availability of this website. We do not promise the site will always be reachable or error free. If you spot something wrong on a page, tell us — we would rather fix it than have someone rely on it.
Governing law. These terms are governed by the law of Queensland, and the courts of Queensland have jurisdiction.
Changes. We may update these terms. The date below changes when we do, and the version that applies to your job is the one current when you accepted your quote.
