What the slabs are like in Daisy Hill
Shade and damp set the product. A slab under heavy canopy never fully dries, and a film sealer over it blisters as moisture pushes up from below. Penetrating sealers are the correct choice here even though they give less gloss.
Eucalypt litter stains differently to dirt. Tannins soak into the surface rather than sitting on it, which is why washing never lifts them. Grinding removes the stained layer and a sealed surface resists the next round.
Gradient and length together are the third factor. A long steep driveway carries a lot of water in a storm, and if fall and drainage are wrong a new surface will show the ponding faster than the old one did. Slip rating is specified for the wet condition, which rules out gloss.
