What the slabs are like in Victoria Point
Slip rating is the whole conversation here. We specify R11 as a minimum around water and R12 where there are steps or fall, and it goes on the quote in writing. The reason it matters is that a wet, bare foot behaves nothing like a dry shoe: a surface that feels grippy in a display area can be genuinely dangerous around a pool.
The second factor is UV and heat. A dark-coloured pool surround in this part of Queensland gets hot enough to be unpleasant underfoot by mid-morning. Lighter colours and washed aggregate surfaces stay usable, and we will say so even when the darker sample looks better on the day.

What slip rating should a pool surround be?

Will the surface get too hot to walk on?

Can you reseal an existing surround without resurfacing it?
