Is it cheaper to do the driveway and pool surround together?
Yes. Mobilisation and setup are fixed costs, so combining areas lowers the rate per square metre.
Why do you insist on control joints?
Because a slab this size will crack somewhere. Joints decide where. An unbroken large surface simply cracks where nobody chose.
