What the slabs are like around here
1970s slabs cut into slopes, under heavy tree cover. Shade is the defining condition: surfaces stay damp, moss and algae take hold in the low corners, and sealer breaks down unevenly between the sunny and shaded halves of the same driveway. Root lift from established gums is the other regular, and it shows as edge cracking rather than mid-slab.
